2000 Yamaha Roadstar Trike rear end  installation instructions.


We use this jack to work on the motorcycles while converting the bike to a trike. The jack comes with the adapters shown in the picture above.  Powder coated black. 1,000 pound capacity. $90.00 plus $30.00 shipping.

 


This is the Roadstar Swing arm, it comes with center spacer and bearings, it also comes with two 1/4" spacers, one for each side of the swing arm at the pivot shaft. Reuse stock pivot shaft.

Bolt Swing arm shock mount to shock linkage on bike.

Install pulley, belt and wheels on rear end.

Roll rear end forward, put belt inside swing arm mounting plate.

Slide belt between frame and pulley.

Install original pivot shaft with one supplied spacer on each side, between bearings and frame. Pull the belt the rest of the way over front pulley. Torque shock bolt to factory specs.

Lower bike till bolt holes in the swing arm and rear end line up, install lower bolts first, then slide 1/4" thick gold washer between swing arm and rear end side plate, at curved adjusting slot, then install upper bolts with 1/2" washer on the outside, thru curved slot, thru 1/4" washer and in to the rear end side plate.   Tighten pivot shaft nut to factory recommended specs.   Snug up all 4 rear end mounting bolt, loosen 1/2 turn, adjust belt tension to factory specs, tighten jam nut on adjuster bolts and torque the 4 rear end mounting bolts to 104 ft. lbs.

Install front pulley cover, hook up stock brake line, bleed rear brake, tighten lug nuts on rear wheels and go for a ride.
